At Mouz, your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Introduction

Mouz Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Mouz mobile application (the "App" or "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes:

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account using one of our authentication methods, we collect:

• Apple Sign In: Name, email address, and Apple User ID
• Google Sign In: Name, email address, profile photo URL, and Google User ID
• Email/Password: Email address and encrypted password

We store this information in Firebase Authentication, a secure authentication service provided by Google.

2.2 User Profile Data

We maintain a user profile in our database (Firebase Cloud Firestore) that includes:

• User ID (unique identifier)
• Display name and profile photo URL
• Email address
• Authentication provider(s) used
• Monthly credits balance (resets monthly for Pro subscribers)
• Lifetime credits balance (from one-time purchases)
• Subscription status (free, Pro)
• Subscription expiry date
• Active subscription ID
• Account creation date
• Last login date

2.3 Photos, Prompts, and AI Data

When you use Mouz to design spaces, we collect and store:

• Original Photos: Images you upload or capture with your camera
• Text Prompts: Custom text descriptions or instructions you provide for AI generation
• AI-Generated Images: Design visualizations created by our AI based on your photos and prompts
• Drawing/Mask Data: Areas you mark when using tools like Furniture Placement, Wall Paint, or Magic Erase
• Thumbnails: Compressed versions of images for faster loading

All images are stored securely in Firebase Cloud Storage under your user ID. Only you can access your images unless you explicitly share them.

2.4 Project and Design Data

For each project you create, we store:

• Project ID and title
• Room type selected (e.g., "Living Room," "Kitchen")
• Design history (all variations and edits you make)
• Selected styles, furniture, colors, and materials
• Custom prompts you enter
• Project creation and modification dates
• Favorite status

2.5 Usage and Analytics Data

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with Mouz. This includes:

• App opens and session duration
• Feature usage (which tools you use most)
• Screen views and navigation patterns
• Number of generations performed
• User tier classification (casual, active, power user)
• Subscription events (trial started, subscription purchased, etc.)
• Device information (device model, OS version, screen size)
• General location (country/region, not precise location)

Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated. We do not use this data to identify individual users.

2.6 Crash and Error Data

We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect:

• Crash reports and stack traces
• Device state at the time of crash
• App version and build information

This data helps us identify and fix bugs to improve app stability. Crash data does not include personal information or the content of your photos.

2.7 Purchase and Payment Information

When you make a purchase:

• Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We never receive or store your credit card information.
• We receive purchase receipts from Apple/Google, which we verify to grant you credits or subscription access.
• We store a record of purchases including: product ID, purchase date, transaction ID, and verification status.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

3.1 To Provide the Service

• Create and manage your account
• Authenticate your identity when you sign in
• Process your photos to generate AI-powered design visualizations
• Store your projects and design history
• Track your credit balance and subscription status
• Enable sharing of your designs

3.2 To Process Payments and Subscriptions

• Verify purchase receipts from Apple and Google
• Grant subscription benefits and credits
• Sync purchases across devices
• Handle subscription renewals and cancellations

3.3 To Improve the Service

• Analyze usage patterns to understand which features are most valuable
• Identify and fix bugs and crashes
• Optimize app performance
• Develop new features based on user behavior

3.4 To Communicate With You

• Send important service announcements
• Respond to your support requests
• Notify you of updates or changes to our policies

4. How We DO NOT Use Your Information

To be clear about our commitments to you:

• We do not train AI models on your photos. Your images are used only to generate designs for you, not to improve our AI systems.
• We do not sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties.
• We do not use your photos for marketing without your explicit permission.
• We do not share your designs publicly unless you choose to share them yourself.
• We do not show ads in the app or use your data for advertising purposes.

5. How We Share Your Information

5.1 Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate Mouz:

• Google Firebase: Cloud infrastructure, database, storage, authentication, analytics, and crash reporting
• Google Gemini (AI Service): We use Google's Gemini API to process your images and text prompts for design generation. Your data is sent securely to Google for processing and is not used by Google to train their AI models, complying with their enterprise data privacy policies.
• Apple/Google: Payment processing for subscriptions and in-app purchases

These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.

5.2 When You Share

When you use the share feature in Mouz, you choose where and with whom to share your designs. We do not control what happens to shared content after you send it.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or subpoena).

5.4 Business Transfers

If Mouz is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Data Storage and Security

6.1 Where We Store Your Data

Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure through Firebase services:

• Firebase Cloud Firestore: User profiles, project metadata, design settings
• Firebase Cloud Storage: Photos, images, and design outputs
• Firebase Authentication: Account credentials and authentication tokens

Firebase data centers are located in the United States and may be replicated across regions for redundancy.

6.2 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
• Encryption at rest: Firebase automatically encrypts data stored on their servers
• Access controls: Firebase Security Rules ensure users can only access their own data
• Authentication: Secure OAuth 2.0 authentication with Apple and Google
• Password security: Passwords are hashed and salted (we never store plain-text passwords)

6.3 Data Retention

We retain your information as follows:

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Photos and projects: Retained until you delete them or your account
• Analytics data: Retained for up to 14 months in anonymized form
• Crash data: Retained for up to 90 days
• Purchase records: Retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes (typically 7 years)

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Access Your Data

You can view and access all your data within the Mouz app, including your profile, projects, and design history.

7.2 Update Your Data

You can update your profile information, project titles, and other data directly in the app.

7.3 Delete Your Data

You can delete individual projects and images within the app. To delete your entire account and all associated data:

• Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account

When you delete your account, we permanently delete:

• Your profile information
• All your photos and generated images
• All your projects and design history
• Your authentication data

Some data may be retained in backups for up to 30 days. Purchase records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes.

7.4 Export Your Data

You can export your designs by using the share or download feature in the app. For a complete data export, contact us at support@mouz.app.

7.5 Opt Out of Analytics

While we do not currently offer an in-app option to disable analytics, you can:

• iOS: Enable "Limit Ad Tracking" in Settings → Privacy → Tracking
• Android: Opt out of interest-based ads in Settings → Google → Ads

7.6 Marketing Communications

We do not send promotional emails or marketing communications at this time. Any emails you receive from us are service-related (e.g., password resets, important updates).

8. Children's Privacy

Mouz is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will delete that information immediately. If you believe we may have information from a child, please contact us at support@mouz.app.

9. International Data Transfers

Mouz is operated from the United States, and our servers are located in the United States. If you are accessing Mouz from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.

The United States may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using Mouz, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

10. Region-Specific Rights

10.1 California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Request deletion of your personal information

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• We will notify you through the app or via email for material changes
• Your continued use of Mouz after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
